Harlem River Community Rowing
GETTING TO THE ROWING SITE ONCE IN THE PARK
By MetroNorth from Grand Central or 125th St:
MetroNorth to the Morris Heights stop (16 minutes out of Grand Central) is the easiest way to get to us. The train station is literally in the park, and exiting up the stairs you'll find yourself in front of the main park building.
From the 4 train to Burnside Ave.:
From Upper Manhattan:
Cross the Harlem River on either the University Heights/207th Street bridge or the Washington Bridge. Walk south or north, respectively, on Sedgewick Ave or Cedar. Pick up Cedar St. Cross the Major Deegan on W. Tremont into the Park. If you take the Washington Bridge you can also pick up the Bx18 Bus.
By Car:
We are located just off the Major Deegan, south of the West Fordham Road Exit. If you are coming from the Major Deegan, get off at the West Fordham Road exit. Do not cross the river into Manhattan! From West Fordham Road, turn south onto Sedgewick Ave. Follow Sedgewick to where it intersects with Cedar and cross over the Deegan there (i.e. head toward the tall housing towers). Once you cross the Deegan, you will see a supermarket and a toll booth. Directly before the toll booth, take a right turn, go about 100 feet and you will see a roundabout and the main park building. Get a parking permit inside the building to park in the lot; be advised that permits are scarce and you are NOT guaranteed a parking space. Drive down the ramp, take a left at the bottom out into the open air parking lot. Cars may NOT drive past the lot to the boathouse area! (On-street parking and a parking garage are also available.)
